Resident Education
Lectures
A. Didactics
We have noon conferences on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Lunch is provided and pagers are collected at the beginning of conference to allow residents to fully participate and benefit from the experience. Lectures reflect the full spectrum of family medicine and high yield topics on our yearly in-service exam.
B. Journal Club
Journal Club is a monthly gathering led by residents during noon conference. We select topics in the current AAFP journal provided by our program and discuss hot issues affecting our patients. Our faculty provides great insight into current medical diagnosis and treatments and review relevant board questions.
C. Professional Physician Development (PPD)
PPD occurs monthly and provides great opportunity to enhance our procedural skills. All residents and faculty participate. We usually review common office procedures and spend time working on scholarly activity projects.
